Siemens’ Power Transmission and Distribution is a significant

Siemens supplies, erects, builds and maintains the networks by
which electricity is transmitted and distributed from Egypt’s
power plants to users across the country. The company provides a
functional, reliable and stable energy supply, supporting
day-to-day activities.
A milestone in Egypt’s power transmission network is
high-voltage substations using international standard products,
mostly manufactured in Egypt. The company supplies customers in
the public and private sectors with substations, high voltage
switching equipment, and energy network management systems.

PTD executes projects mainly on a turnkey basis, providing
design, delivery, transport to site, unloading, erection,
testing, start-up, commissioning, monitoring and protection of
substation services. The group demonstrated its turnkey
capabilities delivering the sophisticated Alexandria Regional
Control Center (ARCC) and the Cairo Regional Control Center (CRCC)
to monitor and control the flow of electricity supply to Egypt’s
largest urban centers.
Siemens also delivered a state-of-the-art Gas Insulated
Switchgear (GIS) Sub-Station 66 kV up to 500 kV levels such as
Kasr Al Aini, Cairo North, Kureimat and Sidi Krir where the
latter would connect Libya with Egypt’s 500 kV network.
The Egyptian Electricity Transmission company awarded Siemens
with an order to supply a turnkey project that entails the
rehabilitation of El Magd conventional type - Indoor Substation
and the extension of Dishna 66/11 KV 2 x 25 MVA Conventional
Indoor Substation.
Through its joint venture with VA Tech, Siemens has further
reinforced its position as a leading international company in
the Power Transmission and Distribution sector and provided a
solid basis for sustained growth.
