In the presence of the First Lady, Ms.
Suzanne Mubarak, Head of the Children’s Cancer
Hospital Foundation (CCHF), Siemens Medical
Solutions in a consortium with Siemens Limited
Egypt signed a Euro 25 million contract with the
foundation for the supply, installation,
testing, training and commissioning of Medical
Equipment. |
The Children’s Oncology Hospital is the first of
its kind in Egypt and the Middle East. It will
assist in the process of fighting all forms of
Pediatric cancer in its’ early and advanced
stages. Oncology Physicians shall have an edge
in screening and treating children and
eradicating the disease. Siemens’ role in the
project will be to continuously monitor and
assist the hospital in maintaining its’
international quality standards, an issue of
great concern to the CCHF, offering the required
support as well as effective and holistic
treatment programs envisaged for the hospital.
Mr. Mohamed El Wetidy, Senior Vice President and
Head of Medical Solutions, Siemens in Egypt
said: “Siemens’ prime motivation is to support
the CCHF in implementing a world class Center of
Excellence for the treatment of Pediatric
Oncology in the Middle East. We shall equip the
hospital and integrate it with comprehensive
medical solutions in accordance to the Unique
International Health Care Provider Standards”.
He added that the contracted equipment perform a
range of diagnostic and therapeutic functions,
such as Cycletron, Positron Emission Tomography
with CT, Therapy Simulation with CT as well as
the first 1.5 Tesla Open MR, featuring
state-of-the-art technology, which is being
introduced for the first time in the region.
Siemens will act as the link for mutual
cooperation between some medical institutes in
Germany and the CCHF in Egypt, which will
support the foundation in playing a vital
educational role, in addition to exchanging
knowledge and treatment know-how in order to
become a perfect model that will be followed in
the entire Middle East region.
