Siemens’ Power Transmission
and Distribution wins a new order to supply a
turnkey project that entails the rehabilitation
of El Magd conventional type - Indoor Substation
and the extension of Dishna 66/11 KV 2 x 25 MVA
Conventional Indoor Substation. |
The new contracts signed on the 6th of
November 2006 by Siemens Power Transmission and
Distribution and the Egyptian Electricity
Transmission Company are valued at a total of
EGP 24,000,000.
The scope of works entails the engineering,
design, manufacturing, factory testing, land
transportation, insurance, erection, testing and
commissioning of all the delivered equipment.
The projects timeline ranges from 12 to 14
months from the date of the contract signature.
His Excellency, Dr. Hassan Younes, Minister of
Electricity and Energy, witnessed the contract
signature by Eng. Hatem El Ghoroury, Senior Vice
President and Head of Power Transmission and
Distribution in Siemens and Eng. Samir Ezz El
Arab, Chairman of EETC. Eng. El Ghoroury said:
“The client was very cautious in his selection
process taking into consideration high quality
standards among the local manufacturers, and he
added that these two projects are the starting
works of Siemens in Egypt after the merging of
VA Tech with Siemens.
Eng. El Ghoroury explained that the aim of this
project is to increase the capacity of the
existing substations to ensure a reliable supply
of electricity to the 66 kV Unified National
Grid of Egypt in Qena and Alexandria.
