The contract was signed by Mr. Hatem El
Ghoroury, Senior Vice President and Head of
Power Transmission and Distribution in Siemens
Egypt, Mr. Uwe Kelin, Projects Manager of Siemens
Power Transmission and Distribution in Germany,
Dr. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Egyptian
Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and Eng.
Refaat El Metwally, Chairman of the West Delta
Electricity Production Company (WDEPC).
The scope of supply for the GIS turnkey
project includes four GIS bays (double bus,
double breaker system scheme), three 500/220 KV
tie transformers, substation control and
protection systems, switchyard building control
room and all related mechanical, electrical and
civil work required for a complete operational
system. The new order is valued at EUR 14.7
million and EGP 10 million, all equivalent to
EGP 118 million. The contract also encompasses a
provisional sum of 10% of the total contract
price. The execution of the project is effective
the contract’s signature and is expected to be
completed by summer 2008.
