Siemens Hands Out Awards for
Winners in the Best Corporate Citizenship and
Environmental Awareness Contest Launched By
AIESEC Egypt |
Out of Siemens’ long lasted commitment towards
the Egyptian community, the company has
launched, in cooperation with AIESEC Egypt, a
contest in Best Social Responsibility and
Environmental Awareness Report among students of
four campuses in Egypt.
The signing of the MOU represents a landmark
development in cooperation between the two
companies. Under the agreement, Etisalat will
consider Siemens Communications to be one of its
preferred suppliers for the entire scope of
communications technology.
The four campuses are namely Cairo University,
American University in Cairo (AUC) and the Arab
Academy in Alexandria and Cairo, which witnessed
a well-organized promotional campaign for the
contest launched by AIESEC Egypt; a global
organization which develops youth leadership
with network of 500,000 members across more than
83 countries at more than 800 universities
world-wide.
Students from the four campuses were
equally proactive and enthusiastic in submitting
their projects which covered the three areas
mentioned. Most of the entries tackled the
environmental awareness and protection issue,
the matter which reflected that students have a
mature concept of corporate citizenship and the
pivotal role played by organizations in
developing the community around.
Siemens Egypt’s president also attended the
closing ceremony where winners have been
recognized and handed out different Siemens
prizes. The Top winners also got a summer
internship in Siemens Egypt to implement their
own project and benefit from all the facilities
that the organization can afford for the
kick-off of a corporate citizenship program.
The internship award has been given to the Top
two winners as they will share responsibilities
of planning and implementing their own project.
The two winners were Mr. Mourad Henery Farah
from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology
(AAST) and Ms. Jacinta Obegolu from the American
University in Cairo (AUC).
“Part of our commitment towards the communities
we work in lies in providing good opportunities
for good youth calibers to prove themselves
through well organized programs and with the
aids of an international organization like
AIESEC. By so doing, the program would have a
double benefit targeting the same aim of
community development”, Levri commented.
