Siemens Egypt Wins the largest bid for
Telecom Egypt Networks |
In light of the latest developments of Telecom
Egypt to increase the capacity and efficiency of
its landline telephone networks in Egypt, the
company received several offers by-bidders in
the Egyptian market.
Siemens’s encompassing experience in the field
of Communication and land line Telephone
Networks since 1980 and the projects that the
company was able to execute since then enabled
it to contribute in installing 2.1 million main
telephone lines for Telecom Egypt.
Due to Siemens’ OSP department success in Egypt
and its vast experience in the local and
international markets, Siemens Egypt decided to
pitch in on the bids of El Marg & Suez Networks.
An entire team was assembled, headed by Eng.
Ahmed El Khabiry – Vice President, OSP and team
member of all other Siemens departments that are
directly related to this project.
Eng. Khabiry declared that El Marg
project involves four different Exchanges
covering the areas of Ain Shams, Matreya, as
well as East and West of El Marg with a total of
168,200 main telephone lines. On the other hand
El Suez project covers Suez Exchange and Hod El
Dars Exchange (Port Tawfiq) with a total of
57,400 main lines which is designed to eliminate
waiting lists and network clogging in the
previously mentioned areas.
During designing these projects OSP team
attempted to benefit as much as possible from
the existing networks and endeavored to improve
their efficiency, and hence enable Telecom Egypt
to provide its clients with the best service.
The contract entails the supply of Materials,
Network Planning, Civil Works, Installations,
Quality and Project Management.
This contract is solid proof that Siemens Egypt
is entrusted by Telecom Egypt which comes as a
true reflection of the intimate cooperative
relationship between the two companies involved
and the high skills that the teams working on
these two bids possess.
