Siemens Egypt announces the
winners of the Pan African Profile Awards
competition 2006 / 2007 |
Promoting high standards of technical writing,
the Siemens Profile Awards is one of the primary
pan-African journalism awards devoted
exclusively to science and technology and serves
as an incentive to writers, broadcasters and
producers to create work that simplifies these
often complex subjects. The competition was
initiated six years ago by Siemens South Africa,
and Egypt has been participating in it for the
past 3 years.
out of ten categories, this year Egypt has
won three awards in the fields of Energy,
Business Solutions (IT) and Transportation.
Mr. Adel El Bahnasawi, Al Masri Al Youm
newspaper, category winner – Energy,
Mr. Haitham Dardeeri, Al Mal newspaper, category
winner – Business Solutions (IT),
Dr. Samir Mahmoud, Al Ahram newspaper, category
winner – Transport.
Runners up winners of the Merit Awards were:
Mr. Ashraf Fikri, El Mal newspaper, category -
Energy,
Ms. Abeer Saady, category - Business Solutions
(IT),
Mr. Atef Abdel Sattar, Alam El Mal newspaper,
category - Technology policy and Investment,
Mr. Kheir Ragheb, Al Masri Al Youm newspaper,
category - Transport.
The competition was announced on March 2006
during a ceremony that took place in the Four
Seasons hotel to honor previous Profile Awards
winners.
Category winners will all be traveling to South
Africa this month to receive their awards at a
ceremony held by Siemens South Africa.
Siemens will continue to support the Profile
Awards as there is still much work to be done in
reporting other technological environments in
the media beyond Internet and
Telecommunications.
