Siemens’ Power Transmission
and Distribution wins a new order to supply a
turnkey project to set up the Aswan conventional
type Substation connection of 220 / 66 / 22 kV,
MVA and 2 x 75 MVA as well as 2 x 25 MVA |
Siemens signed the EGP 31,660,000 contract on
the 30th of January 2007, with the Egyptian
Electricity Transmission Company (EETC).
The scope of works of the project entails
engineering, design, manufacturing, factory
testing, land transportation, insurance,
erection, testing and commissioning of all the
delivered equipment. Timeline for full execution
of the project will be approximately 12 months
from the date of the contract’s signature.
Signatories to the contract were Eng. Hatem El
Ghoroury, Senior Vice President and Head of
Power Transmission and Distribution, Siemens
Egypt and
Eng. Samir Ezz El Arab, Chairman of EETC. Eng.
El Ghoroury said: “Siemens Egypt is adopting the
policy of local assembly of high voltage
equipment through its state-of-the-art
technologies and products. The project will
maximize on local added values especially since
highly skilled and carefully trained Egyptian
personnel from Siemens will be in charge of this
project”.
Mr. El Ghoroury explained that the aim of this
project is to increase the capacity of the
network and ensure a reliable supply of
electricity to the Unified National Grid of
Egypt in Aswan.
