Siemens Automation and Drives
signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the
Egyptian Technology Transfer and Innovation
Centers in the Ministry of Trade and Industry |
During the “Innovation and Technology
Transfer to the Egyptian Industry : Exploring
the German Model” Conference, coordinated by the
Technological Development Sector within the
Ministry of Trade and Industry and the
Egyptian-German Private Sector Development
Program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was
signed between Siemens Automation and Drives and
the Egyptian Technology Transfer and Innovation
Centers.
H.E. Eng. Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Minister of
Trade and Industry, and H.E. Mr. Bernd Erbel,
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany
witnessed the signature of the MOU which creates
a working mechanism between Siemens Automation
and Drives and Egyptian Technology Transfer and
Innovation Centers in order to enhance sectors
specific electrical solutions and services in
Egypt.
The MOU was signed by Dr. Hany Loka, Senior Vice
President and Head of Automation and Drives,
Siemens Egypt, and Dr. Hany Barakat, First
State’s Undersecretary and Head of Technological
Development Sector, Ministry of Trade and
Industry in order to fulfill the needs of the
different industrial sectors, making the
Egyptian industries leapfrog into global
competitiveness.
Dr. Loka stated that Siemens will provide
consulting services implementation and training
support to address factory automation, process
automation, power distribution, asset management
and energy savings. The support is not limited
to the above mentioned subjects and could be
extended to other topics upon the agreement of
both parties.
Dr. Loka elaborated that this is a continuation
to the ongoing efforts to develop programs to
assert Siemens Automation and Drives role and
presence in Egypt. |
