Siemens Egypt announces the
winners of the Pan African Profile Awards
competition 2007 / 2008 |
Promoting high standards of technical writing,
the Siemens Profile Awards is one of the primary
pan-African journalism awards devoted
exclusively to science and technology and serves
as an incentive to writers, broadcasters and
producers to create work that simplifies these
often complex subjects. The competition was
initiated seven years ago by Siemens South
Africa. Egypt, an active participant in the
competition, has had several winners over the
past 4 years, which enabled Egyptian journalists
to secure first place in different categories of
the Profile Awards.
addition to being the overall winner of the
competition, Egypt managed to collect three
awards in the fields of Transport, Safety &
Security and Healthcare.
Award winners were Ms. Abeer Saady (overall
winner), El Akhbar newspaper, category winner in
Transport, Mr. Mohamed Hassan, Al Ahram El
Massai newspaper, category winner in Healthcare
and last but not least Mr. Atef Abdel Sattar, Al
Ommal newspaper, category winner in Safety &
Security.
Merit Award winners were Dr. Samir Mahmoud, Al
Ahram newspaper in Healthcare and Mr. Ashraf
Ikram, El Akhbar newspaper in Research &
Development.
Category winners will travel to South Africa to
receive their awards in a prestigious ceremony
held by Siemens South Africa on 28 February
2008.
