Education is one of the key pillars for the development of the
society. Siemens has been committed to the education and the
sustainable development of Egypt. Early science education by
means of experiment kits is an important part of Siemens’
worldwide education program for preschools, schools and
universities. |

The “Discovery Box,” the international version of the experiment kit
for pre-school
children was launched in 2007. It includes experiment sets on
“Energy & Electricity” and “Environment & Health”. The experiment
kits have all the equipment for exploring water, air, color, energy,
health and electricity. This is not text-book learning, but giving
children their first practical experience of scientific and
technical phenomena, which even the very small already find highly
interesting.
It
consists of two large wooden boxes on the Siemens topics of Energy&
Electricity, Environment & Health. The boxes are full of components
for carrying out experiments in these areas. With the experiment
kit, children in kinder gardens and preschools can have fun finding
out all about a variety of exciting everyday phenomena.
Serving two purposes, it not only awakens the interest of preschool
children in science and technology, but also supports the teachers
by equipping them with material and know-how for this area through
the topic cards and the DVD. The child-friendly, fun experiments in
the experiment kit make science real and are thus an important
element of early childhood education.
