Siemens is taking positive steps towards developing the Egyptian
community through not only improving the educational level and
enhancing its standards, but also through strengthening the
company’s role in supporting our society as part of its
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mission. For that reason,
Siemens is participating as a significant academic partner in
the STP 2009 program (Steps Towards Progress).
STP 2009 program is an annual project held at the Cairo
University. This program is a student initiative, which is also
managed and organized by students under the supervision of the
faculty of Engineering professors. One important goal of STP is
reducing the gap between the educational and the work sectors;
whereas its mission is “to develop Egypt’s youth in various
fields through taking part in academic programs, projects and
events to ultimately create a generation capable of effectively
supporting their community and their country in general”.
Siemens is taking part in this initiative to spread awareness
among the youth −the potential future employees− to inform them
about Siemens’ portfolio in the Industry, Energy and Healthcare
sectors.
On the 3rd and 4th of March 2009, Siemens has organized two
sessions. The first session is:
“Totally Integrated Automation” and the second session is:
“Totally Integrated Power”. Many students from the faculty of
Engineering - Mechanical and Power sections- have attended this
activity during which the spokesmen have demonstrated live
experiments using Siemens devices to show students the practical
side they’ll face after their graduation.
